About Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
COVIDs Impact on GI
With the help of patients, caregivers, and our Industry Council, IFFGD has created a survey to gain insight into the impact COVID-19 and the pandemic has had on the Gastrointestinal (GI) Illness population. We hope this will assist healthcare providers, law makers and industry partners on the future care of patients.
*Approximate time to take this survey is 7 minutes

What is IBS?
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a disorder in which abdominal pain is associated with a range of symptoms. Typically, these include intermittent abdominal pain accompanied by diarrhea, constipation, or alternating episodes of both. Other symptoms may also be present.
Signs & Symptoms
A number of symptoms that occur together characterize irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This may confuse you at first. Plus, symptoms will likely change over time. The changes may seem random, but there is a pattern to symptoms of IBS.
Treatment
A short bout of abdominal pain and diarrhea or constipation now and then is not unusual, but long-term or recurring symptoms are not normal. They may signal irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) – and are generally treatable.
Living with IBS
Having IBS gives you something in common with literally millions of other people who live with their disorder every day. There is no cure, yet, but there are ways to manage though not always simple or straight forward. It may take some detective work by you and your doctor before you find what works best.
